Game of Thrones Braids for Short Hair

Celebrate the final season of Game of Thrones with a fun braided hairstyle that’s perfect for short hair!

You don’t have to be a an experienced hair braider to achieve this look. In fact, it’s as easy as booking an appointment at your local Glam+Go! If only killing the Night King were as simple as that, ammirite? (Maybe they should use all that dragon glass they dug up!)

Today I’m highlighting my recent visit to Glam+Go and sharing a few braiding tips from my talented hairstylist, Brenna Stewart.

If you’re just hearing about Glam+Go for the first time, let me give you the rundown. They are a quick service salon specializing in speedy blowouts, express styling, and a service menu that surpasses competitors like DryBar.

Not only can you pop in for a quick 15 minute blowout, you can also get your makeup done, or opt for more traditional salon services like cut and color. Basically, they’re a survival necessity for all of us boss babes working hard and finding no time for ourselves or our  hair!

You can drop in to get the perfect blowout before your presentation at work or a conference you’re dreading but want to look your best for. (Ugh, conferences, the bane of my existence)

*Fun Tip: You can book services using your Class Pass credits!

I knew I wanted to try a Game of Thrones inspired hairstyle because 1 – I’m obsessed with Game of Thrones and we’re entering the final season! And 2 – My braiding skills are terrible! I knew I needed professional help!

I showed Brenna a few inspiration photos and she helped me decide on the best style for my hair length.

My crown braid and bun style has all the Sansa Stark vibes with a modern twist! It’s perfect for a Game of Thrones viewing party or any type of outdoor soiree!

I asked Brenna for a few braiding tips so I could practice my skills and she was so nice and offered the tips below:

  • Add texture to your hair before braiding (curls, waves, etc)
  • Avoid products that add oil/slickness to your hair
  • Use a pomade for braids that are free of fly-aways
  • Practice! It takes time to master any braid

Ready to book your appointment?! I can’t wait for you try Glam+Go for yourself! There’s a good chance you’ll become instantly braid obsessed like me. I know I’ll be back there soon to try a new look! (Maybe something inspired by Princess Jasmine since Aladdin will be out soon?!)

Glam+Go currently has locations in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and Washington D.C.

I was provided with complimentary service to facilitate my post. That said, the thoughts and opinions expressed here are 100% mine! I always keep it real!

Brenna, my talented stylist, is on the left and Amanda, the owner and total boss babe entrepreneur is on my right! It was such a pleasure to meet and connect with these talented women!
