FUN READ: Everything We Keep

Are you looking for a fun weekend read that’s hard to put down? You’re in luck!

Everything We Keep, by Kerry Lonsdale, is the perfect book to read on a cozy weekend in, by the pool, or even while sunbathing at the beach….a.k.a. it’s a juicy story that’ll spice up your day!

I was so excited to find out how it ended that I stayed up until 3 am one night!

Take a look at the book back synopsis:

Sous chef Aimee Tierney has the perfect recipe for the perfect life: marry her childhood sweetheart, raise a family, and buy out her parents’ restaurant. But when her fiancé, James Donato, vanishes in a boating accident, her well-baked future is swept out to sea. Instead of walking down the aisle on their wedding day, Aimee is at James’s funeral—a funeral that leaves her more unsettled than at peace.

As Aimee struggles to reconstruct her life, she delves deeper into James’s disappearance. What she uncovers is an ocean of secrets that make her question everything about the life they built together. And just below the surface is a truth that may set Aimee free…or shatter her forever.

Even though this YA book is more of a playful, dramatized story with plot turns worthy of a daytime soap opera, I found some solid life lesson hidden in its pages. Let me lay them on you.

When life doesn’t turn out as planned, it can be a much bigger blessing than you realize. It’s important to embrace change, remain optimistic, and never lose faith that what’s meant to be will be. (This is not a spoiler, just my personal take away!)

Another important tidbit I want to share is, Everything We Keep is part of a trilogy. But honestly, I felt so satisfied with the ending of this book that I haven’t felt compelled to start reading the rest of the trilogy. This might be more of a personal preference thing but let me know if you find yourself feeling the same way!

I hope you’ll check out this fun read so we can chat more about it!

Until next time, happy reading!
